Becoming a Better Person, Parent, & Partner....

Life carries a great deal of uncertainties and we are vulnerable to them all.  Despite our attempts to control our lives, things have and will continue to happen that harm us, challenge our belief systems, cause us pain, and change the trajectory of our lives.  It is in these challenging moments where our personalities and futures are defined.  Finding the right help and support during these moments may greatly improve our outcomes.

I have spent years exploring, researching, analyzing the human condition.   I am a specialist in helping clients recover and heal from addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, and relationship challenges (namely infidelity and divorce).  I work with individuals, couples, and families.

I have specialized experience and training in relationship and intimacy issues that arise throughout our lifetime.  Before creating a private practice, I helped develop and run a unique program at the world famous Promises Treatment Center in Malibu.  The SAID (Substance Abuse & Intimacy Disorders) Program is a comprehensive, multi-focused addiction treatment program that was the first of its kind in the world.  I have also worked with a broad range of acute mental health disorders at Aurora Vista del Mar psychiatric hospital in Ventura.   I have spent years working with all ages, races, religions, sexual orientations, socio-economic classes with a variety of life challenges.

I have trained under several world-renowned experts in their field: Christine Courtois, PhD (trauma), Rob Weiss, LCSW (addiction), Pam Peeke, MD (food addiction), and Patrick Carnes/Ken Adams, PhDs (sex addiction, attachment disorders).  Additional training and treatment models include: Harville Hendrix's Imago couples therapy, John Gottman's couples therapy, Pia Mellody's co-dependency and love addiction, and Brene Brown, PhD's work on vulnerability, shame, and guilt.

I am available to answer any questions you may have.  My hope is to assess whether my expertise matches your expressed needs or refer you to another therapist, program, workshop, or other helpful resources.
